Anthony Aylworth was born about 1495 in Aylworth, Gloucestershire, England. He was the son of John Aylworth of Aylworth. In the 1543 Visitation of Gloucestershire, Anthony Aylworth was said to have been 30 years old at the time of his father's death. His father, John Aylworth died in 1525. Anthony Aylworth was the father of eight children with two wives. With his first wife, who is unknown, he had the following four children:

Eldest son, Richard Aylworth, who inherited Aylworth Manor. He was married to Elenor Gower of Woodhall, Worcester.

Eldest daughter, Mary Aylworth, who married Thomas Watson of Stratton.

The second son, John Aylworth, Member of Parliament from Wells, Somerset, England. John Aylworth Biography He was married to Elizabeth Ashton.

Third son, Francis Aylworth, of whom nothing has been discovered yet.

After the death of his first wife, Anthony Aylworth was married to Anne Newers, the daughter of Thomas Newers of Tackley, Oxfordshire. This couple had the following four children:

Fifth son, Peter Aylworth, who married Anne Gower of Woodhall, Worcester.
