Daniel was a Farmer and a Cabinet maker. He made several Pipe Organs (One for the Presbyterian Church in Circleville, OH.) as well as drums for the Union Army under contract during the Civil War.It was related that on the Journey to Ohio, a Fiddle belonging to his brother Adam, fell out of the covered Wagon and rolled under the wheels, being smashed into 42 pieces. Daniel gathered up the fragments, put them in a grain sack, and upon reaching Ohio, glued them together so well that the Fiddle was used for many a year.
