Dear David,
I wish I could help you with your project, but the names you mention are not members of my family. I searched all my entries born in the city Mechelen (the Dutch/Belgian name) or Malines (the French/Walloon name). The name Van Eynde exists, but more common is the surname Van den Eynde or Van den Eynden. In the surroundings of Antwerp and Mechelen there are lots of families with that name or a variant of it, like Vandeneynden or Van Den Eynde. If I have more data of the persons you mention I could search more thorough.
If you have more data or other persons with a similar surname please send it to: (XXXXX@XXXX.XXX) and I will try to find more data.
Best regards,
Sanne van den Eijnde ((XXXXX@XXXX.XXX))

Hi, I am working with a school looking at their history from 1850 to 1920. We have Joanne Knorberra Van Eynde, Edward Jozy her brother and another brother Franciscus Melania who we know died here in Derbyshire in 1915. They came as refugees in 1914 and lived in the Little Chatsworth cottages. They came from Malanes or Mechlen. You seem to have some of the same family names and come from the same area. Is your family the right one? Thanks Gertie on behalf of Dave

Dear Sanne,
Here is all I know about the Van Eyndes who lived at Little Chatsworth, Holmesfield, Derbyshire during WW1. They were looked after by Robert Murray Gilchrist of Cartledge Hall.
Father was called Joseph. Daughter Joanna Knorberra born 9/10/03. She had consumption or tuberculosis which meant she had to leave school. Son Edward Joseph born 4/9/05. Daughter Maria Francisca Marguerita born on 8/3/07. Son Franciscus Melania who died in 1915 and is buried in Derbyshire. They left before the end of the war and went to Sheffield. They came from Malines which we believe is Mechelen.
I tried to find the school they would have attended, thought would be great for schools to communicate, but failed.
Hope that is of some use. Thank you again.
Cheers Gertie
