Mrs. Tryntje Hulst 1839—1933
A native of Staphorst, Netherlands, where she was born October 19. 1839. Mrs. HendriK Hulst of Hospers, nee Tryntje Groenheide, died at her home at Hospers September 7, 1933.
Her death occurred just 17 years to a day after that of her husband who passed beyond on September 6, 1916.
They were married in the Netherlands February 5, 1864, the family imigrating to America in 1884, locating on a farm 5 miles southwest of Hospers where they lived until about twenty years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Hulst moved to Hospers to make their home.
Mrs. Hulst loved to work in her garden and in the picture above is shown busily at work. She took care of the garden plot up to just a very few days before her death.
Seven children, all respected citizens survive the pioneer parents as follows: Grietje, Mrs. Jacob Vlieger, Alton; Dirk Hulst, Inkster, N. D.; Herman, Alton; Nick, Hospers: Mary, Mrs. Henry Romberg, Hospers; John, Hospers: Grace, Mrs. Klaas Dykstra, Hospers. One child died at the age of four years when the family still resided in the Netherlands.
