John F. Zinser, 84, St. Paul, died Monday at Major Hospital.
Born Dec. 30, 1913, in Shelby County, he was the son of John and Josephene (Fischer) Zinser.
He married Alice (Worland) Zinser on May 1, 1948. She died July 14, 1964.
Mr. Zinser was a farmer until retiring in 1979. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, all of Shelbyville; and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by a son, Paul Zinser, St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, and Shelbyville veterans' groups will honor him with services at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home.
