Wedding Day of Dad and Lady Anne.
These last two months have just been a joy seeing the love between Dad and Anne blossom. One of Dad's favorite sayings these last few years has been: it is not good for a man to be alone. He did not feel like a whole person anymore. Well, God heard the cry of his heart and caused Anne to come into his life. As he gathered his courage and knocked on Anne's door he was invited in for coffee with an in2itation to come again. But she did say that marr iage was not what she', was look ing for. But Anne knew that Dad was lonely and Dad did not let grass grow under his feet and the next morning he was at her door again. And from what I understand this was the beginning of a blossoming romance that took off like a rocket. One of the first times they went out for dinner they drove around until dark so no one would see Dad drop Anne off but they got brave pretty soon and walked allover the place for all to see, walkinq hand in hand. They must have been the talk of the town for a few days. I was told when Anne broke the news to her side of the family, one of the great-grandchildren asked if they were going to have babies. When she was told this was not possible because they were too old, she said: Abraham and Sarah did!. Ah, the faith of a child. We have seen our Dad get younger and brighter before our eyes and I am sure Anne's family have seen the same thing happen to their mother. I have often wondered about a Bible verse where it speaks about our youth being renewed like the eagle's. I think we are seeing that happening to our two lovebirds here. Anne, we love you and you walked right in our hearts. I want to leave you with a promise from the Bible found in Psalm 92: As you walk hand in hand together with the Lord, He promises us that you will flourish and bring forth fruit in old age. Our prayer for the two of you is that you may have a number of wonderful years ahead of you together.
By Karen Heikens
Wiebe told this one: He and Anne went for their honeymoon to Jake and Karen’s vacation mobile home in Washington State which they had called Paradise. The 2nd day there they called up to say they had locked themselves out. Imagine locking yourself out of Paradise and having to return to BC. Adam and Eve got locked out of Paradise because of their sin, while Wiebe and Anne got locked out because they lost the key - losing the key must be a sin.
NORTH VANCOUVER, B.c. 1979 (50 jarig trouwjubileum)
Harry Boer) arbeidt als predikant in Gary, Indiana (voorheen in Charlottetown, P.E.I.) Wiebe and Elly Boer of 33477 Rainbow Ave, Abbotsford, BC were married December 21, 1929 in Holland. They came to B.C. in 1951 and have been living in this area since 1973. This summer a family reunion was held here, which all 10 of their children were able to attend. Of the 10, nine were born in Holland. On December 22 a small but special celebration was held to honor their marriage of 50 years and one day. Karen Heikens and Elly Bosma, daughters of the couple, hosted the open house and dinner in the basement of the First Christian Reformed Church. Other children among the approximately 40 guests were the couple's sons Tinus and Dick Boer. Son-in-law Fred Bosma was master of cerernonies. When the couple were married, they operated a combined barber shop and beauty parlor. Wiebe ran the barber shop and his wife managed the beauty parlor. In 1951, they came to Canada and settled in Port Alberni where Mr. Boer worked in the lumber industry as a stencilman and marker. They moved to the Abbotsford area in 1973, when he retired.
1979 Reunion Song (Tune: Oh My Darlin Clementine)
Chorus:
We are here, we are here, to spend time with family
To remember and discover our roots and legacy.
In the town of Port Albemi, mom and dad got married there
They lived in a little bunk house for their future there to share.
In the bunk house was no heater &.they snuggled up in bed,
Nine months later along came Elsie on the birthday of her dad.
Not much later, still no heater, mom was pregnant once again,
The addition to the family was a little boy named Fred.
And the years went by quite quickly, five were added to the clan,
Dad decided this was plenty so he bought a heater then.
From the Island to the Mainland we did make the big move
To the little town of Haney, and then finally to New West.
Seven children, different ages, driving mom right up the wall
Angry neighbours and policemen always knocking at the door.
All the kids now started leaving and the house seemed just too big,
Mom was sick of all the cleaning, dad was sick of fixing up.
Biking, walking, swimming, fishing, Hatzic Lake was heavenly,
When it started needing fixing, dad just put a "sale" sign up.
Dad was older, and now smarter, he would buy something new,
Now no lawns to mow and no painting, dad could really handle that.
Oh the condo, was just perfect, nothing needed to be fixed
But the grandkids were not happy, cause the yard was 3 x 6.
10.Mom was bored and somewhat lonely, dad was happy and content
Then they came to an agreement and the sign went up again.
11.Found a trailer, with a big yard and the price was right for dad,
But it needed tons of fixing and it was an awful mess.
12.Bought it anyway, bought it anyway and dad fixed it up real fme
Mom and Marg did all the cleaning and they lived there oh so nice.
13.Harris Road was quite gezelig, we had gatherings rnany times,
Sitting round the roaring fire, sharing things or singing songs.
14.Mom and dad made the decision, -and they moved to Agassiz
The house was almost brand new, for them a luxury.
I5.Then came pain and lots of sorrow, mom got very ,very sick,
It was here she spent her last months, serving God until her death.
16.There were good times, and sad times in our busy family
But the memories are forever and we'll always cherish them.
Chorus:This land is our land Opa still cut hair
This land was their land If you would let him
They left their country Oh that was scary
To live in Canada His old fashioned styles
It was land of hope He thought he still was good
It was a land of dreams But we knew better
This land was made for all of us. This was a time of leisure life.
They crossed the ocean Oma she loved her games
They crossed the country And she was good at them
They learned the language First it was Yahtzee
They raised ten children Then she played Racko
They worked extremely hard Her all time favorite
They saved their pennies Was aggravation
This land was made for all of us. This was a time of leisure life.
They roamed and rambled They lived on Rainbow
And they followed their footsteps Then to'Majestic
They left Pitt Meadows They tried the condo
F or Vancouver Island Then to Ebenezer
It was not easy Life was now ending
Yet they all managed For our dear grandparents
This land was made for all of us This is the land in which they rest
The nest was empty Because they followed
The burden was lighter Their hearts desire
It was a good time They did quite well here
To now retire In this strange country
They left the Island And now because of them
And moved to Abbotsford We gather here today
This land was made for all of us. All because of hope and dreams.

Population registers are registers that recorded and tracked the movements of all Netherlands residents. Please see the archive list below for coverage. In most municipalities population registers began in January 1850. However, in some localities these records date back much earlier. The majority of the records in this collection date between 1810 and 1936, though the extent of year coverage can vary by locality, and some records are available beyond this range. It is important to obtain a copy of the original record whenever possible, as the original record may provide additional context and details about an individual or family. For example, population registers typically recorded people in households and could indicate family relationships. They also provided detailed information regarding residence (where the family or person moved to or from, and the date of their change in residence). Changes in the composition of a household due to events such as birth, marriage, and death, were also noted in the registers.
