Judith Lynne Mithelman was born on April 19, 1945, at Grinnell General Hospital. She was the daughter of LeRoy and Ruth (Bryan) Mithelman. Judy graduated from Grinnell High School in 1963. On November 7, 1964, Judy married Ken Lindblom at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Grinnell. The couple lived in Perry after marriage, and they moved to Marshalltown in 1965. Judy was a stay-at-home mom and raised her 4 children before going back to work part-time at Northwestern Bell in the business office for 18 months. She then worked for 25 years in the Marshall County Treasurers office in the Tax Department, retiring in 2005. She was a bookkeeper by nature, being very detailed especially in finances. Judy was a member of Elim Lutheran Church from 1965-1984. While she was a member there, she served as committee chair on various church groups. She was Past President of Womens Circle, a Sunday school teacher, and Past Sunday School superintendent. Judy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church from 1984-the present. She served on the church board that started the Annual Ice Cream Social in 1998, with 2009 being the 11th year. She served on both the food and kitchen committee and the church 25th anniversary committee. She was also Past President of Lutheran Brotherhood. She worked with RSVP and enjoyed 40 years with her Card Club. She was a room mother for Girl Scouts and a team mother for both the Marshalltown Little League and the Marshalltown Girls Softball Association. She enjoyed talking on the phone, decorating her home, and her family was very dear to her heart. She referred to her grandchildren fondly as her honey pets. Judy was more concerned about others than herself, even during her illness. She loved being a Christian, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandma, a mother-in-law, and a friend. Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Ken, of Marshalltown; her four children, Kimberly Denise(Randy) Wallace of Marshalltown, Kellie Dawn(Aundray Jones) Lindblom of Cedar Rapids, Kevin David(Erika) Lindblom of Marion, and Karl Douglas(Sarah) Lindblom of Albuquerque, NM; her five grandchildren, Adrian Wallace, Grant Wallace, Jasmyne Jones, Summer Lindblom, and Aubree Lindblom; her mother, Ruth Mithelman, of Grinnell; her brother, Rev. Jack(Rev. Rachel) Mithelman of Des Moines; her sister, Janet Holcomb, of Grinnell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many friends. In death, Judy has rejoined her father, her sister Jane Rupe, her brothers-in-law Jerry Holcomb and Bill Spooner, and her in-laws, Carl and Helen Lindblom.
