Funeral services today for Mrs. Martin Korver/ Newspaper Archive
Mrs. Martin Korver, 86, passed away Monday at the Municipal Hospitalwhere she had been a patient for three years and seven months.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm today (Thursday) at The First Reformed Church. Rev. Raymond van Heukelom and Rev. Robert Bast will officiate.
Burial will be in the Orange City Cemetery.
Mrs. Korver, nee Jennie Mouw, was born March 21, 1878 at Orange City Ia. She married Martin Korver on March 8, 1900, who died in 1954. They farmed near Alton until 1942 when they moved to Orange City.
Survivors include six children, William of Sioux Center; Henry of Alton; Martina (Mrs. Anthony Muilenburg); Myna (Mrs. Gillis Haverdink); both of Orange City; Nyron of Alton, Simon of Nocksack, Wash., 34 grandchildren; 69 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Otto Mouw of Orange City.
Mrs. Mouw was preceded in death by her husband, one child in infancy; and two sons, John and Arthur. Also one brother, six sisters and one grandchild.

At 11 o'clock on Thursday, the Rev. Steffens of Orange City united in wedlock in the presence of a large company of friends Martin Korver and Miss Jennie Mouw, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs H. Mouw, three miles northeast of Orange City. Both parties are from prosperous and highly esteemed families_ the groom being the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Korver who recently purchased and moved to the Chris Ramm farm two miles of Alton. The young couple have gone to housekeeping on the old Korver home farm three and a half miles north of Alton, adjoining the farm of another of the Korver boys who is likewise a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Mouw. Martin Korver Dies Following Illness of More Than A Year/ Newspaper Archive
ORANGE CITY_ Martin Korver passed away at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Grossmann Hospital. He had been ailing for the past year and a half and was hospitalized for the past two weeks. He was born Nov 26 1874 on a farm near O.C. He was reared in this vicinity and lived on a farm three miles south of Newkirk since he was 14 until moving to O.C. 12 years ago. He married Jennie Mouw on March 8 1900 and continued on the Korver Homestead south of Newkirk. Mr. and Mrs. Korver had been married 54 years last March 8. Surviving are his widow and seven children: William, Henry, Martina (Mrs. Anthony Muilenburg), Mira (Mrs. Gillis Havedink), Arthur and Myron, all of O.C. and Simon of Everson, Wash. One son, Arthur Otto died at the age of two years and John, aged 27 passed away 10 years ago. He leaves 33 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother: Jennie (mrs. J.H. Mouw) of Leota, Minn., and Mattie (Mrs. Evert Mouw) of O.C. and Gerrit Korver of Pipestone, Minn. Preceding in death were the brothers John and Gerrit Korver and a sister Mrs. Dick Reinsma; also an infant sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 1 o'clock in the Korver home and at 1:30 at the First Ref. Church with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment will be in the O.C. cemetery.
