The funeral Mass for Marguerite M. Veentjer of Northeast Portland will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Rita Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
She died Friday in a Portland hospital of complications from kidney failure. Mrs. Veentjer was 68.
She was born Marguerite Hanke on July 8, 1924, in Berlin, Germany. She immigrated to the Portland area just before the U.S. entry into World War II and married Harry Veentjer in July 1947. Mrs. Veentjer was a homemaker.
She had worked in the bakery department of a local Fred Meyer store and also had been employed at the old Bazaar department store.
She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.
Her husband died in 1983.
Survivors include her daughters, Maryann Carter and Claudia A. of Portland; her sister, Hilda Rutkowski of Berlin; and four grandchildren. Her son, Stephen, died in 1982.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Loaves and Fishes program.guerite
