It is not sure that this is Daniel van Emmerik, but it could very well be as he arrived via Southampton from London. His destination was Philadelphia, but he could have moved later to Oneida. The age [25] fits also.

From the Passenger list of his sister Theodora, whom he sponsored in 1911 to come to the USA, and from a postcard sent by her to her niece - my wife's mother - it seems he lived in Oneida, N Y. at that t ime.
I found info on a web site of the van Emmerik family «http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/v/a/n/Erikjan-Van-emmerik/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0052.html» the following info:
"Het 48 jarig Huwelijksfeest van de heer en mevrouw D.J. van Emmerik wordt gevierd op Thanksgiving bij een familie diner ten huize van haar dochter Mrs. George Norton, Ramson Ave. Sherrill.
Kort na hun hwelijk kwamen zijn naar de USA wonen in Oneida. Daar werkte hij als aannemer. Na 19 jaar vetrokken zij naar Albanië. Na 2 jaar kwamen zij terug in Wampsville."
Although this info is in that genealogy connected to another - incorrectly placed Daniel Johannes -, it could very well be relevant to this Daniel.
Sherrill is right next to Oneida and there is a Ramsom Avenue.
Wampsville is also near Oneida. I wonder if "Albanië", should not be Albany, the capital of NY State and not "Albanië", the Dutch for Albania!
I do not know where the makers of that genealogy got their information.
I further found that a Donald W. Norton died on October 26, 1988. He was the son of George Norton and Dora Van Emmerik.
«Oneida County, NY - 1988 Obituaries Extracted from Rome Daily Sentinel
Compiled by James O. Brockway and submitted for use in the USGenWeb Archives.»
This also fits the above. Dora is the abbreviation of Theodora, also the name of Daniel's sister and a family name.
The "Uncle Dan" in the photo could also be of a son called Dan[iel] !
The names van Emmerik and Norton are still found in Oneida County today.
The question remains: whom did this Daniel marry?
