== Biography ==
'Dau DE LA RIEUX' is the unknown and speculative mother of Henry de la Rieux[[Rassinot-1|Isabelle Rassinot]], October 15, 2018. She was born before 1490 (birth of Henry in 1502, at the latest) and therefore significantly older than King Francis I, purported father of her child.
She is conflated with the somewhat mysterious "Damoiselle de Rieux" a demoiselle d'honneur at the court of Francis I, who was probably still in her teens when the reign of Francis I started (1515) at a minimum, therefore born after 1500. She is briefly mentioned, along with other ladies, by Barthélemy Haureau, with a short poem written by Clément Marot[https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015015382727;seq=146 Francois I, page 136] François Ier et sa cour, par Barthélemy Hauréau (1515-1547) Main Author: Hauréau, B. 1812-1896. Language(s): French Published: Paris, L. Hachette et cie, 1855. Edition: Nouvelle édition, revue et augmentée..
Here is the full extent of Barthélémy Hauréau's mention of Mademoiselle de Rieux (she is mentioned among the Demoiselles d'honneur):
