Gerald H. “Jerry” Klomberg, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 19, at his home in Beaver Dam surrounded by his family.
Visitation for Jerry will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, Aug. 25, from 9-10:50 a.m. Funeral services will follow at church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Wenzel officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
Gerald Herman Klomberg was born on June 11, 1934, in Milwaukee to the late Edward and Emily (nee Moser) Klomberg. On Aug. 10, 1958, he was united in marriage with Mary Persha. Their love story started in eighth grade when they met in confirmation class and never ended. They were best friends and were truly in love throughout their life.
After graduating from Horicon High School in 1952, Jerry earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Lawrence University in 1956, and his doctorate of medicine degree from Marquette University School of Medical in 1960. He worked in private practice in the Beaver Dam area for 30 years and finished his career as the director of medicine at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.
Jerry enjoyed traveling and took the family many places through the years. He enjoyed snow skiing in the winter and sailing in the summer; he also enjoyed going to his cabin in Crandon. His pride and joy was his family. He loved time spent with his children and grandchildren. Even through his own illness, his thoughts were always about others, especially his beloved Mary.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Klomberg of Beaver Dam; four children, Kurt (Anne) Klomberg of Horicon, Peter Klomberg of Beaver Dam, Heidi (Scott) Martin of Horicon and Kristin (John Jarmain) Klomberg of Horicon; seven grandchildren, Emma (Alex) Momich, Martha Klomberg, Lukkas Klomberg, Maddie Klomberg, Caleb Martin, Ciara Jarmain and Alec Jarmain; his sister, Betty Pfister (Bob Walber) of Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Charlotte (Rich) Burrow of Horicon; other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jacob Martin.
