A memorial service and life celebration for Lukas Miron Foppes, 77, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church with The Rev. Patsy Barham officiating under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.Mr. Foppes died June 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1932 in Waterville, New York and has been a resident of Henderson for the last thirteen years. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and was a retired project manager in San Jose, CA. Mr. Foppes served in the US Navy from 1951-1955 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He also taught and was a pilot for Cessna Aircraft. He received his teaching certificate from the University of California at Berkley and was a band director and a skilled artist and musician. Mr. Foppes served as a member of the Kilgore College Scholarship Advisory Committee and was a member of the East Texas Steel Guitar Association. He had an electronic patent through RCA and worked in the computer industry in the Silicon Valley, CA as a programming manager for new releases. He was also very active in local theater at the Henderson Civic Theater.The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church Parish Hall.He was preceded in death by parents, Luke Peter and Pauline Rogalski Foppes.Survivors include: wife, Camilla Clark Foppes of Henderson, and their children, Ellen Kathleen Foppes of Plainsboro, New Jersey, Anita Marie Walker and husband Gordon of Andover, New Jersey, Diane Fern Camara of Phoenix, Arizona, David C. White and wife Celeste of Henderson, Master Sergeant, Ret. USAF James I. White and wife Daisy of Panama City, Florida, Sarah Lynn Lewis and husband Marvin of Golden, Colorado, and Paul S. White and wife DeAnna of Pollok, Texas; brothers, Ronald "Skip" Foppes of Waterville, New York, and Peter Foppes of Oakfield, New York; sister, Felicia Raab of Troy, New York; grandchildren, David Nathaniel Foppes, Amanda Marie Walker, Rachel Ann Walker, Jonathan Camara, Shauna Renee' Ellis, Kristy Elise White, Alexander Jacob White, Destiny Alonn White, Justin Xavier White, Joshua Caleb White, Jacob Charles White, Ricky Lewis, and Amanda Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Ashton O'Neal Ellis, Jadyn Leigh Ellis, Jordyn Marie Ellis, and Joey Lynn Ellis.Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Donor Services, P.O.
