Ronald Floyd Brief
Ronald Floyd Brief, age 74, of Frankenmuth, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Frankenmuth.
Ron was born December 5, 1938 in Kingston, Michigan , son to the late Floyd John and Nellie (Hackel) Brief.
He graduated from Kingston High School.
He married Doris Ann Lambert January 23, 1960 in Marlette.
Ron dedicated his career to serving his country in civil service. His duty began as an officer at the Marlette Police Department and in 1965 he was employed as a Michigan State Police Trooper. He joyfully served 27 years until his retirement in 1992; he served 2 years at the Ionia Post and 25 years at the Bridgeport Post. During his service with the M.S.P., he served many years as a circuit court officer in Saginaw County.
In his retirement he continued 4 more years of civil service as a 911 dispatcher. He loved his job and was very humble about his service.
He was also a board member for many years at the Frankenmuth Conservation Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, farming and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris Ann of Frankenmuth; two sons Ronald W. (Mary) Brief of Kingston and Roger Brief of Marlette; three grandchildren Elizabeth (Brandt) LaPouttre of Bay City, Jonathan Brief of Kingston, Kristina (Ryan Boyd) Brief of Lapeer; five great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon (James) Brandibur of Kingston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; brother James Brief; father and mother-in-law Orville and Thelma Lambert; brothers-in-law, Wayne and Deneen Lambert.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. Burton Kincaid officiating.
Burial will be in the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Michigan.
Memorials may be donated to the Frankenmuth Conservation Club or the family’s discretionary fund.
Visitation will be held on Monday 7pm to 9pm, Tuesday 2pm to 9pm and Wednesday 12noon to 1pm at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.
