Regina was the daughter of Gerhard Hundling and Susie Poppens of Germany. She came to the United States in 1869. She, her sister, Lena (Mrs. Harm Knock) and brother, Lupke, came by sailboat. It took six weeks to come over the Atlantic Ocean. They encountered severe storms, which would drive them back as far as they had come the preceding day.They came to Illinois, and in the fall of 1869 came to Dubuque, Iowa, where the brother entered the Dubuque Presbyterian Seminary. Lupke hadpreviously attended the Heidelberg University at Heidelberg, Germany. In addition to being pastor at Breda, Iowa, he was the owner and editor of the "Ostfriesischen Nachrichten" there. Harm Hook and Regina Hundling were friends in Germany. They were married at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, Grundy County, Holland, Iowa, on July 3, 1871, by the Rev. van der Las, after which they started farming. Harm and Reginawere the parents of six children, Berend Harm, Benard Harm, George Harm, Rudolph Harm Lupke Harm and Gretje "Grace". They were blessed in their farming ventures, owning a section of Grundy County land at the time of their passing, all in an area of three to four miles west of Holland, Iowa. Their final years together were spent in Holland, about two blocks north of the business area.
