OBITUARY: Died Thursday morning February 17, 2000. Mr. Boelman was born June 6, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Jerry and Jennie (Smith) Boelman. During W.W. II he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident, and was employed with the Burroughs Company for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline M. Boelman on October 6, 1991; a brother John Boelman; and a sister, Marion Stuckum. He is survived by a step-daughter, Joyce McCon of Niles, MI; 3 brothers, Jerry (Lillian) Boelman, Alfred (Mary) Boelman, and Steve (Shirley) Boelman, all of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters, Edna (Frank) Dolhay and Ann Vermeulen, all of Kalamazoo; special friends, Steve (Jeanne) Carstens of Kalamazoo; aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel 622 S. Burdick St. with the Rev. Mr. Richard Liggett officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. Internment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
