Evert Pauw is recorded as Evert van der Pauw in the record of his church wedding in Bunnik, and as Evert Pauw the record of his civil wedding and all others that follow, although his first name varies considerably. At his second wedding his first wife's brother is witness: to Annigje Kraaijkamp, witnessed by Cornelis van Bentom and Antoni Stolker. Children from his first marriage to Antonia van Bentum marry the same inlaws as other van Bentum, but the children from his second marriage marry Van Bentum descendants.
Evert is a farmer and probably the first builder. He has already been researched, and their is a book out on him (very difficult to get). It details his will, among others.
Antonia and Evert may have been instrumental in getting Cornelis started in Jutphaas, Evert voted for Cornelis in a local council election in 1797, and the Van Bentum later built a construction and metal foundry enterprise, hence my name for them as the industrial branch. Maybe the big Pouw construction works, you get to see from the train on entering Utrecht from Amsterdam, belong to his distant descendants.
Around 1790 Evert buys the ruins of Batau Castle, a.k.a. Ten Baan, (picture is from Kastelenboek, Provincie Utrecht). He pulls them down and builds a farmhouse, where his descendants via his second wife lived until well into the 1980s. It now is a listed building in Nieuwegein.
