Notities over Michael DeMott

Michael kept a Tavern and the town meetings were occasionally held at his house. He had a number fo childrfen, among them were William, Jacobus, Isaac, who inherited the estate, consisting of several hundred acres. It passed out of his hands to a Mr. Ellis of New York.
Michael DeMott is shown as owning a hotel in Balmville prior to the Revolutionary War. In 1764 he served as a poormater for the then town/village of Newburgh. He also is shown as a purchaser of a tract in the Harrison Patent No. 7 in 1754, which incdluded portions of the German Patent.
