Hendirck was born about 1661 in "Flatbush in the Dutch colony of New Netherlands. Flatbush was on the western end of Long Island and was one of the "Dutch towns" which were eventually to become Brooklyn. Shortly after Hendrick´s birth the English took over New Netherland in 1664, and it became New York permanently after another Dutch-English conflict in 1674.

Anthony DeMott a witness is spoken of as Hendrick´s brother-in-law In the same volume is mentioned the marriage of Johannes DeMott to Marie Aten sister of Hendrick, sometime before 1707.
