Born Nedereind. RC baptism witnessed by Cornelia Gerrits van Schaick. Resident of Nedereind at the time of his civil wedding. RC wedding witnessed by Antoni van der Horst and Willem van Schaik. The only Gerrit van Schaik born in the period 1730-1741 is the son of Pieter van Schaik and Gerrit van Rossum, in 1741. But that would make this a marriage of first cousins. Possible, there are a few comments in the Jutphaas Registers about the blood relationship of spouses, but still....
Candidates in the 1717-1730 period are: Gerardus born in 1721 son of Arien Gerrits van Schaik and Anna Willems van Schaik, and Gerrit born in 1726 son of Arien Cnelis van Schaik and Cornelia Gerrits van Schaik. Having to take a pick, I have selected Gerardus 1721, although that would create an age difference, which is acceptable since that is much more common than first cousin marriage.
Actually, the first cousin marriages appear in the last quarter of the 19th century, when religious segregation in almost all spheres of life became entrenched as the Catholics emancipated. Crazy, segregation as an expression of emancipation!
Gerrit 1726 was born in Oudwulven, although he could have moved to Nedereind by the time he married, but he has no Willems in the immediate family (neither does Geertruij). Gerardus was born in Nedereind and has two brothers named Willem, the name of a Willem witnissing his wedding. So unless someone has a better idea..., he becomes the brother in law of ancestor Antonius Kippersluis.
