Daniel served our Country in the Army during World War II where he served in the European Theater campaign and was wounded on December 4, 1944, and sent back to England Base Hospital. He later received a purple Heart . He spent 18 months in Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City, Utah.
After his hospitalization he returned to Willow Creek where he custom wheat farmed for himself. He also had worked for Ideal Cement near Three Forks. On June 9, 1950, Dan married Gladys Marie Streets Lane. They continued to ranch, and in 1954 he had a school bus route for three years. In 1957 Dan went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1980. Dan and Gladys had two children; Daniel Arie and Doris Marie-Pinkerton.
After selling the ranch, they enjoyed traveling and visiting family. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7621 of Three Forks. Dan enjoyed his family, working with horses and farming. His motto in life was "I can beat this."- Find a Grave
