  Northbridge – Ruth (Peters) Gjeltema, 82, of Northbridge died Sunday August 28, 2011 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge. She was the wife of the late Raymond Gjeltema who died in 2008.
  
  Mrs. Gjeltema was a secretary for the Worcester Insurance Co. in Worcester where she worked for ten years. She had previously worked for the M.J. Whittal Co.
  
  She was born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1929, daughter of the late Milton L. and Ruth (Fromhold) Peters and had been a resident of Shrewsbury and Leicester before moving to Whitinsville more than 40 years ago. She was a graduate of the Beal High School in Shrewsbury, Class of 1948.
  
  Mrs. Gjeltema was a longtime member of the Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church where she was as a former choir member, taught Sunday school for many years, served as its Superintendent and was a former member of the church’s Dorcus Society.
  
  She is survived by three sons; Randall P. and his wife Nancy Gjeltema of Uxbridge, Robert M. and his wife Jean Gjeltema and Roland W. and his wife Susan Gjeltema all of Northbridge, one daughter Rae-Ann B. and her husband Mike Maranda of Sutton, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Curtis Peters and Milton L. Peters Jr.
  
  Funeral services will be held Sat. Sept. 3, 2011 at 11 AM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church St., Whitinsville.
  
  Interment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Northbridge.
  
  Visiting hours will be held from 9:30-11 AM, prior to the service in the funeral home.
  
  Memorial donations may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School, 279 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
