JACK RITZEMA Jack Alvin Ritzema was born April 18, 1935, to Iva May Loy and James John Ritzema, in Grand Rapids, Mich., and passed away Aug. 15, 2009. Jack was the first born twin with his brother, Jay. In 1953, he and his brother enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served as the engineer for the telephone systems and was sent all over the world changing the phone registers from manual to automatic. He served for four years. He moved to Las Vegas in the early 1960's and started Mountain View Scales, which he still owned. Jack married Juanita Jacomb in 1990 and was married to her for 13 years until she preceded him in death. Juanita gave him three stepchildren that adored him. In 2005, he married Mary Elizabeth Low. Jack is survived by his twin brother, Jay; children, Marc, Amy and Tama Jones; stepchildren, Vicki (Kim) and Lisa Jacomb, both of Las Vegas, and Jeff (Liz) Jacomb of Cedar City, Utah; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and Juanita. Jack was a loving father, good husband, a wonderful grandfather and great friend. Service will be at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City.
