  TRAVERSE CITY — Susan "Sue" Jean Wise, 54, of Traverse City, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Munson Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.
  
  Sue was born May 30, 1954, in Grand Haven, to the late Kenneth E. and Nettie (Stolarz) Bol. She married her best friend, Chuck Wise, Sept. 19, 1977, also in Grand Haven. Together they had two beautiful children.
  
  Sue's hard work and passion to make a difference in the lives of people around her prompted her to establish the Hope Chest, which benefited Northwest Michigan House of Hope. Hope Chest was not only a successful nonprofit business but a place where people felt valued.
  
  Sue also influenced many young girls' lives as a basketball coach from 1996 to 2001 at Traverse City Christian School. She infused her love for the game with a desire to teach life skills to the players she interacted with. Sue and the rest of the coaching staff lead Traverse City Christian to Conference and District Championships in 2001. Her players will remember her expectation of hard work and drive for success.
  
  In Sue's words, her life's greatest accomplishment was her family; she was a loving wife and wonderful mother. She was a faithful friend and committed Christian who will be deeply missed. She wanted to serve Jesus in every aspect of her life and is now standing in heaven hearing, "Well done good and faithful servant."
  
  Surviving Sue are her husband of 31 years, Chuck; son, Micah; daughter, Theresa (fiancé, Tyson Lahti); brother, Ken (Barb) Bol; sisters, Carol (Charlie) DeWitt, Janice (Bruce) Nichypor and Sandy (Jerry Volante) Thompson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
  
  A celebration of Sue's life and faith will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Bay Pointe Community Church, with visitation held one hour prior. Pastor Nick Twomey will be officiating the service.
  
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Northern Michigan House of Hope or the Traverse City Christian School.
