  Peacefully at Ascot Care Home (formerly of Kelso and Wanaka), on 6 September 2017, aged 87. Loving husband of the late Theadora (Thea). Much loved father and father-in-law of Astrid and Murray Ballantine, Ashley and Julie and much loved grandad of Jacqui, Cameron, Hannah, Lachlan, and Bryce and their partners. Dearly loved companion of Theadora (Thea) from The Netherlands and her family Ted, Marjan, Rob, Imca, and Opa to Tycho. A service to celebrate Barry's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox St, Invercargill, on Tuesday, 12 September, at 11.00am. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to St John Ambulance will be appreciated and can be left at the service. Special thanks to all the staff at Ascot Care Home.
