Monkman, Mrs Mary Frances, Teacher of Music and Singing. Mrs Monkman is the youngest daughter of the late William Poppelwell, one of the pioneer settlers of Otago. She was born in 1867, and educated at St. Dominic's Convent, Dunedin. Her musical education was begun under Miss Wyld, of Dunedin, and continued for some time by Mother Catherine, of the Convent.
