As a young man, Frank worked for Mr. Wilson as an orchard hand. In 1924, he began his teaching career with the Berkley County Board of Education, his first assignment being Mount Carmel School. He continued for 42 years, serving as teacher and principal in a number of different elementary schools until his retirement in 1966 at Gerrardstown School. He was a member of the former United Brethren Church, later United Methodist Church. He formerly served on the church board of the Inwood, W. Va., United Brethren Church. He also was a member of St. Lukes United Brethren Church in Martinsburg, W. Va. Frank was a member of the former Eastern Panhandle Education Association and later the Berkley County Education Association; Berkley County Association of Retired School Employees, serving as its first secretary and treasurer; West Virginia Education Association; and West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees. He is survived by a son, Richard Douglas Newbraugh of Manassas Park; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Frank was preceded in death by three sisters, Leola Newbraugh Harrison and two infant sisters, Ella Catherine Newbraugh and Cora Blanche Newbraugh; and an infant brother, Roy Lynn Newbraugh. Frank passed away at the fulfilled life of 97 years old. (information taken from an Obituary Notice)
