Aaron abandoned the family in S-F (he had misspent their considerable money) and my great grandmother had to pack up 6 young children and take them back to NY, while she was pregnant with #7. Twelve years later the boys located their father and the judge in the Desertion Court (Philadelphia) order him to pay child support for the youngest ones, who were still at home. He skipped town, but I found him living with his son (from the second 'wife') in Ohio.
Aron Allen Ostrowski. To the best of my knowledge he did not die in San Francisco. When he abandoned his family in SF, he settled in Philadelphia with his new family under the name Albert Brandon. He left Philadelphia in 1909 to escape paying child support to Annie. He's in the 1910 Census in Baltimore, and then appears in the 'teens in Toledo Ohio. We can't find him after that, but his 2 Brandon children can be traced later to Detroit, New York and Maine.
