A brief history of my father and his parents and his sister. They were all born in Czechoslovakia. My paternal grandfather was named Gustav Allina. He married from the Hacker Family Editha. My grandfather according to the legend was involved in the manufacture of toys with I believe a partner and their company was widely known throughout Czechoslovakia.They had two children named Paul and Editha. My father moved to Vienna where he met my mother, Gertrud Benesch.

My mother had a brother Josef. The father of Josef and Gertrud was Josef Benesch who was a very astute businessman. He began a leather goods business which became very successful and with his younger brothers gave each a store of their own. When my mother was married and giving birth to my brother Alfred in Vienna, the Nazis moved in and took over.

Unfortunately the Nazis took away the stores. There were eight stores in Vienna by the names of Alligator, Josef Axe, etc. The Nazis also took away our home and other personal assets we had. My uncle was sent to Dachau but my mother,my father, my brother, my maternal grandmother Elsa Benesch, and even my uncle who we bribed a Nazi lawyer to get him out along with my aunt were able to flee Vienna.

However, my paternal grandfather, and paternal grandmother were sent to a ghetto in Lipenstadt were they perished. My father's sister married and became Editha Karanya, and both she and her husband were also taken by the Germans. They succumbed to the horrors of the Holocaust. Apparently according to the International American Red Cross through its affiliate in Poland no children to my father's sister were ever found.

This is just a very brief synopsis of the Allina Family. My father sold for Schenley Brothers (liquor or wine) when my mother made a name for herself, and brought her husband along with the immigrants of eastern Europe to form Trude (my mother added an e to Gertrud and took off the Ger) of California, USA. In fact she employed Ernie and Fritzi into her company briefly. Ernie and Fritzi decided to form their own company called Fritzi of California, USA with additional lines added to the Fritzi blouses namely Jody and Tootique.

Of course I must admit that Trude of Calif. wasn't a small line. Our territory consisted of the entire USA The most memorable ladies wearing our clothes were, and still are the Lennon Sisters from the Lawrence Welk Show. In fact to this day the Lennon Sisters can be seen in a black and white photograph approximately 3'x3' wearing our clothes on a large wall at the Lawrence Welk Resort located north of San Diego. Of course that doesn't compare to owning half of Alpine Meadows with Art Linkletter in Lake Tahoe. But then again that happened a long time ago, and times have changed.
I married and my wife's name is Rosalyn. I don't know what GEDCOM is but my sources come from the Holocaust Memorial web site.
