"contesting probate: Miss Majorie Jackson, dau of Joseph Brooks, bro of Amelia:
Oakland Tribune, Oakland California, USA, 2 Dec 1927
San Francisco, Dec 2. -
Charging undue influence and incompetency, Miss Marjorie Jackson, 830 Jones street, has filed an action in the superior court to set aside the petition admitting to probate the will of her aunt, Mrs. Amelia Ostroski, which disposes of an estate estimated to be valued at $1,000,000. Mrs. Ostroski, widow of Samuel Ostroski, died at the Palace Hotel in October 1926, at the age of 75 years. The action states that the will was not signed in the presence of witnesses and that the testator was under ulterior influence in the making of bequests. Miss Jackson is the daughter of Joseph Brooks, dead brother of Mrs. Ostroski. "
In 1880, Amelia and Samuel Ostroski had living with them a nephew Freddie Lincoln, 9 cal (parents born in Eng). prob of the Lincoln family from Monterey, (and I believe that the mother, Rebecca, with a Harris) I was only able to find 2 in 1880 - Freddie, living with the Ostroski's and Amelia, who was living with the Cohens (Ancestry has them as Cahen - they were boarding in Dutch Flat,Placer, Ca.) It appears that the family moved or died and Amelia and Freddie were living with their aunts.
