BABY DIED HERE WHERE PARENTS ARE STOPPING
Rev. Albert Hilt and family, coming from the state of Colorado on their way to Washburn to take charge of the German Baptist congregation there, stopped off here Saturday to make train connections. While here they met with a very sad experience. Their two-year-old son, Adolbert, took suddenly sick and passed away early Monday morning. The cause of death was pneumonia. The funeral service was held at the home of Mr. Christ Bertsch, Sr., where the grief stricken parents made their stay, Rev. H. C. Lehner officiating. The Misses Emilie Wildi and Matie Juhnke assisted with two songs appropriate to the occasion. The remains were put to rest at the Fairview cemetery, Monday afternoon, at 3 o’clock.
The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community in this sad occurrence. Inasmuch as Rev. Hilt has been unable to discharge his duties during the last six months on account of ill-health. And now, to bring the seemingly misfortune to a climax Mrs. Hilt herself is very ill, suffering with a severe cold in head and throat, and owing to the loss of her son, unable to proceed further on their journey for some time.
