Memorial services for Paul Douglas Dirks, 43, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Church with Tom Dirks and Jerry Newton officiating. Another memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in Grace Community Church inWorthington, Minn., with Ted Ludlow officiating. Private burial will be in Pfingsten Cemetery.
Dirks died Sunday, July 26, 1998.
He was born Sept. 10, 1954, in Worthington. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1973. He married Linda Sandhurst in 1975.
He worked at Dirks Farm Equipment, and he later worked for Fram Systems Inc. and the Nobles County Sheriff's Department. He moved to Lubbock in 1994. He was a contracting supervisor for Larry Brackett Construction. He was involved in thesingles ministry, divorce care and Home Group Ministries at Trinity Church.
Survivors include a son, Philip of Lubbock; his mother, Mary Beth Wordelman of Lubbock; four brothers, David of Chandler, Minn., Thomas of San Antonio, Timothy of Lubbock and Nathan of Sioux City, Iowa; his stepmother, Alice DirksOldewortel of Worthington; a stepbrother, Shane Galles of Chandler, Ariz.; four stepsisters, Cathy Peterson of Windom, Caryn Mears of Kennewick, Wash., Lisa Wordelman of San Francisco and Amy Blackwell of Chandler, Ariz.; and a fosterbrother, Jerry Vos of Tacoma, Wash.
