William Dudley lived in Guilford and Saybrook, Connecticut. He was born at sea 8 June 1639 and married in Saybrook or Guilford 4 November 1661 to Mary Roe, daughter of Hugh Roe.
William and Mary had 11 children; Mary, William, Abigail, Joseph, Deborah, Samuel, Joseph, Sarah, Elizabeth, Mehitabel, and Daniel. A cordwainer and shoemaker by trade. He was a freeman in Guilford in 1670 and removed that year to Saybrook. There he was a Deacon in the church, a representative to the General Court for many years and a commissioner several years. He will was dated 2 September 1700 and was proved 29 May 1701.
After William's death his widow Mary married Richard Dart. Richard died 24 September 1724 (will dated 15 Jun 1725). Mary died between 1726 and 1728. Remingtons of Utah by Ward J. Roylance pp. 52-3
