Ken Maye, Sr., Officiating Marvin Gardner, Organist Laurie Van Noort, Vocalist "Amazing Grace" Special Music "The Dance" "I Hope You Dance"

Kathleen A. Groff was born August 13, 1954, in Sioux Falls, SD to Robert and JoAnn (Johnson) Groff. She attended Sioux Falls public schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. She then pursued a double major at Sioux Falls College and received her degree in Social Work in 1977.

She married Bill Eisenbraun in 1979, in Sioux Falls. They moved to California where Kathy worked as a librarian. Returning to Sioux Falls in 1981, she continued her career as a librarian working at Whittier School. Shortly thereafter, she began with the Sioux Falls Public Library where she worked with the Bookmobile program. It was here that Kathy was given the opportunity to work with the children she loved so dearly. As each year passed, Kathy tenderly followed the lives of her little friends. Fostering an educational atmosphere blended with compassion, she grew to know the names of all the children. She was currently working with the Ronning branch library.

Kathleen was united in marriage with Paul Ahrendt of Valentines Day, February 14, 1987. Deeply in love, the couple thoroughly enjoyed spending time together. In her free time, Kathy enjoyed reading, dancing, sewing and doing craft work. She particulary liked spending time with her family camping at Yankton and various parks throughout the state. Her summers were filled with caring for her gardens; planting a variety of flowers and vegetables. For many years, she and Paul enjoyed canning.

Many of our personal memories of Kathy are filled with visions of her smile. With a great sense of humor, she naturally put people at ease. Her dedicated and caring spirit will always be with us.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Paul Ahrendt, Ssioux Falls, SD; daughter, Erica Eisenbraun, Sioux Falls, SD; parents, Robert and JoAnn Groff, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Kevin Groff and his wife Mary, Omaha, NE, Kelly Groff and his wife, Pat, Tea, SD; sisters, Kris Alsomali, Sioux Falls, SD, Kori Baade and her husband, Bob, Sioux Falls, SD; 11 nieces and nephews; special friend, Babs Jung, Madison, SD.

The family of Kathy Ahrendt thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at Miller Funeral Home for refreshments and fellowship following the memorial service."
