Brandt, Ude and Ella Uden - - were two brothers and a sister that farmed southeast of George on the farm that Elmore Geerdes recently vacated when he moved to town. Udens were among the earliest settlers, coming probably during the 1880's.
Brundt married Seintje Eilders; they had one child, and Seintje died. After that Brundt and his child made their home with Ella.
Ude married Mattie Regenberg, the daughter of Fritz Regenberg. Ude ran the first gasoline powered threshing machine in this area. After Ude and Mattie moved into the town of George, he operated a blacksmith shop and machine shop. He repaired cars when they first came out in a shop near the present Herman Koerselman place."
