Text of obituary from page 5 of the Osceola County Tribune, published in Sibley, Iowa on Thursday, April 14th, 1910:
"An Aged Mother Dies
Mrs. Cassen Dirks died at the home of her daughter Mrs. J. H. Isebrands in Sibley on the 6th inst. Her maiden name was Annie Krull and she was born in Germany April 26, 1838.
Mrs. Dirks came to Osceola county in 1907 from Hardin county, where she had lived since 1882. She made her home with her daughter Mrs. Isebrands; a son also survives her, John Dirks of Allendorf. Two brothers and a sister living in Germany are left to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were held at the German Presbyterian church in Sibley on the 8th inst., conducted by Rev. Mr. Tracht of Ashton. Interment was in the Sibley cemetery."
