The text of the obituary fortasse published by the Ft. Dodge Messenger, Tue., 19 Dec 1939:
"Mrs. Sarah Peterson Dies Monday Evening
Mrs. Sarah K. Peterson, 72, a resident of Webster county for 22 years, died Monday evening at the home of her son, J. N. Peterson, southeast of Fort Dodge. Mrs. Peterson had been in failing health for the past two years, having fractured her leg in a fall.
She is survived by four sons. They are James H. Ryan of Swan, J. C. Peterson of Stanhope, J. N. Peterson of Fort Dodge and H. L. Peterson of Mason City. Seventeen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her in death.
Funeral services will take place Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Laufersweiler Funeral home. The Rev. W. P. Clark of the Christian church will conduct the services and burial will be in the West Lawn cemetery in Lehigh."
