Henry Wheelhouse dies at Yankton on Tuesday
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon (Thursday) at the local reformed church at 3 PM for Mr. Henry Wheelhouse of Tea who passed away at the State hospital at Yankton at 2:30 PM on Tuesday. Internment will be made in theLennox cemetery.
A few months ago Mr. Wheelhouse was taken to the State hospital for medical attention and his condition was not thought serious until June 14th when he was taken suddenly ill and steadily grew worse, passing away at the age of 80 years, 5months and 1 day. The cause of his death was given as heart disease.
Henry Wheelhouse was born at Weener, Germany on September 7, 1849 and came to this country alone when but 16 years of age and settled in Illinois. He was united in marriage to Miss Grace Ackerman and came to Lincoln county with his wifein 1879. No children were born to this union. His wife preceded him in death a number of years ago. During the past few years he has made his home with his brother-in-law in Tea and for over 40 years farmed in that community. He has beena resident of the county for 51 years and endured all the hardships of pioneer days. He played his part in the upbuilding of this section of the state. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
