'1 Sep. 1905 Mary Jane Valentine was born in Seneca Co., NY. In her early life her parents moved to Bath, Ohio. She was united in marriage with David Zimmerman, Sept. 24, 1854. They moved to this vicinity and settled on a farm northwest of Delta, where she died Aug. 21, 1905 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 28 days. To them were born seven children of whom 3 preceded her to the better land. Those living are Orlando Zimmerman of Delta, Mrs. Luella Gilbert ofAdrain Mich., and Clara and Ed at home. She became a Christian under the labors of Rev. J. Thomas and united with the United Brethren Church and remained a devoted member of the church and to her God until death released her. She wascalm, sincere and faithful, her life spoke with more force than her words. The troubles and difficulties with others did not originate with her. In her death the community loses a harmless innocent neighbor, the church a consciencepure, god-like woman, the home a consecrated mother and the husband a companion in deed and in truth. Through her sickness not a murmur, when she could no longer speak, she longingly looked heavenward and waved her hand, her end waspeace. Funeral at Bethel Church was conducted by Rev. C. L. Snyder of Blissfield Mich., text 1 Thess 4:14 and many neighbors and friends followed her remains to Saulsbury Cemetery where she was laid away to await the resurrection morn. -We wish to express our sincere thanks to the neighbors and friends that so kindly assisted during the sickness and death of wife and mother and for the beautiful floral offerings and the excellent singing by the choir.
