Obituary: Julius D. Bragg for many years a prominent farmer living near Delong, dropped dead from an attack of heart failure at 1:45 this afternoon. He was stricken at Young's barn on East Farris street where he had been employed since coming to this city a month ago. He had often complained of heart trouble and only a few days ago mentioned that he thought he would die as a result of it.
He had gone outside the barn, to help Mr. Young unhitch a horse, when he complained of a severe pain in his side. He went to the office of the barn which is but a few feet distant from where he was unhitching the horse and just as he reached the door staggered and fell forward on his face.
Mr. Young rushed to his assistance but he was dead by the time he reached him. A physician was immediately summoned but could render no aid.
Mr. Bragg was about 62 years old and for many years resided on a farm near Delong. He was an old soldier and went through the civil war, belonging to the 30th Iowa Regiment. His wife died about six years ago. He had belonged to the Congregational church for many years.
He is survived by Mrs. Cort Barr, a daughter of this city, Harry E. Bragg, a son, of East Galesburg; Glen Bragg, a son of St. Louis, Burl Bragg, a son of Neely, Neb; Mrs Chas. Housh, a daughter of Neely, Neb.; Dave Harper, a prominent farmer of Hermon and Dr. Marks, the dentist of this city and his nephew.
