Biographical Memoirs Pg 105 The birth of Daniel Mock occurred in North Carolina and his marriage was solemnized in that state. Later he migrated to Ohio then to Indiana the western verge of civilization. Daniel came to Greene County Ohio by wagon train in 1802 and remained there until after 1821. He thentraveled to Ward Twp., Randolph County Indiana in 1824 where he resided until his death in 1865. Mr. Mock was the third white man to locate a home within the present limits of Randolph County and had a part in it’s growth and development. His farm was located 3 1/2 miles east of the present city of Ridgeville, Indiana, on the east bank of Clearcreek. A map in the 1884 Randolph County History sho ws the size and exact location of his farm. Five feet ten inches in height and forty-five inches around, he enjoyed superb health and was held in high esteem. Mr. Mock was a Democrat and on occasion would act upon matters involving the knowledge of law. Clearcreek Cemetery where Daniel and Ruth were laid to rest is located 3 miles south of State Road 28 and a 1/2 mile east of US 27 on the east b ank of Clearcreek. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/95921285/daniel-mock
