Hi Barb, (28 Mar 2019)
I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to get the photo of Donny and Breene at the prom.
My sister-in-law wrote that she has the pictures from her father, but doesn't remember that particular picture. It doesn't sound to me at this point that she will look for it. We went back and forth texting, but she didn't offer to look for it.
The Bogota, NJ library has a copy of the 1967 Bogota High School Yearbook, the year Breene graduated. While I was on the phone, the librarian was kind enough to bring the yearbook to the desk. She looked through it and told me the 1967 Junior Dance was held in the school gym. She thought maybe the 1966 dance was also. The photo I remember must have been 1966, as Donny was married in February 1967. Maybe I can take a photo of her yearbook photo.
Do you think Michael Banks would be able to come up with a picture?
Best regards,Jackie
Barb, Thank you very much. As I wrote, I myself, did not know her all that well. But I heard so much about her. She was a very pretty girl. She looked alot like Cher. Long, straight, dark hair. We were all hoping, back in 1968 that Donny and Breene would get back together. I will look at your Family Tree again. I enjoyed the pictures. Best regards, Jackie
Hi Barb, My name is Jackie Scea. My home is in Bergenfield. Breene White is Frank and Wilma's middle daughter. From Ancestry her birth date is 9/10/1949. Janet White Barnett (wife of Russell Barnett) is her older sister. Russell passed in June 2018. His obituary also appeared in "The Record". Kathryn Longhetano is her younger sister. I did view the pictures posted by Michael Banks. Jane Shaw McKim was beautiful. Are you William McKim's granddaugher? There is also an article on Newspapers.com of the marriage of Patricia Banks to Robert Kelly in 1956. All three White girls are in the wedding. As you saw from Breene's wedding announcement, Michael Banks served as an usher. I find it confusing as to why Breene isn't mentioned in either Frank or Wilma's obituary. The pieces all seem to fit.
Hi Barb, I was dating my husband in the mid 1960's. His older brother was dating Breene White of Maywood. My husband's parents were divorced. My husband lived with his mother, while Donny lived with his father. My husband's family adored her. Time passed. They broke up. Donny married in 2/1967. By the summer of '68 the marriage was headed for divorce. One day in the summer of 1968 Breene came to visit my future mother in law at her home in Hackensack while I was there. It was a happy reunion. Sadly Donny was killed in a car accident in 1/1969. On the evening after the accident Breene again visited the family. She attended the funeral providing emotional support. Time passed. When my father in law passed we found old photographs. One was Donny and Breene attending her prom . Internet search for her came up without any results. Then the other day I stumpled across this at Newspapers.com.https://www.newspapers.com/image/492240361/?terms=white%2BLeiding. I hope you are able to open the link. Her obituary from 3/1977 is also on Newspapers.com. It would be nice to see her added to your family tree.
