LifeSketch: 1635 came to New England with uncle William Arnold. Roger Williams.ncilland on the same boat in 1635 as William Arnold his uncle, and located in Providence, R. I., where on July 27, 1640 he was one of the signers for the form of Government to be adopted in that place. He served as Commissioner in 1652, 1659, 1660. Deputy, 1665-1667, 1672 and was a member of the Town Council 1667-1672. During King Philip's War he removed to Littleworth in Oyster Bay Township, L. I., where on June 20, 1676 he and Jeremiah Roads were to have Hog Island conferred upon them. He took with him Elizabeth, widow of his son Joseph, and her two children. Thomas Hopkins died in Littleworth, intestate during Oct., 1684, and his sons William and Thomas who resided in Providence, R. I., wrote the authorities about his estate and when it was divided they mentioned their sister-in-law Elizabeth Kirby and her two children, Ichabod and Ann Hopkins, whom she had before marrying Richard Kirby.
