And the Land Plot book in Abbeville SC lists his 200 acres near the Saluda River near Present day Ninety-Six, South Carolina. His son Captain John McCarter had 600 Acres Kiddie Corner from his father and it was water front on the Saluda River. After Catren McCarter died in July 1800 her son James McCarter 1765-1844 Bought the 200 Acres from his fathers Estate. The Land Plot books are the only record of land left in Abbeville due to a fire that destroyed the Courthouse. Along with his Will. So there is no record of when James McCarter Sold this land. But it is recorded by the Family and in the Book of Descendants of Robert A B McCarter written by Hubert McCarter. Robert A B McCarter was the son of James McCarter and grandson to Moses McCarter. That James sold the Land in 1818 so he and his Wife Nancy Davy and there children Along with his sister Margaret McCarter Bates and two of her Children could move to Green County Alabama.
