LifeSketch: Isaac Herrin was born in Madison Twp, Putnam Co. IN. 6 Jun 1831: died 20 Mar 1910, Sumner, Christy Twp, Lawrence County, Illinois:when "Uncle Isaac" Herrin passed away. He had lived in Sumner for more than thirty years and had always been an honest and upright citizen. He was a man of decided opinions and true to his religion and family by whom he will be greatly missed. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is with them in this great sorrow.ev. O.F. Culver, assisted by the members of the Choir of the M. E. Church.ears, nine months and twenty-three days. He was twice married, first on Nov. 9, 1852 to Emma Jane Matthews. To this union were born six children, one dying in infancy. His wife died Nov. 6, 1862. On July 23, 1863, he was married to Mary E. Brown. To this union were born seven children, two of whom have preceded him to the better world. At the age of thirty years in 1861 he was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived in that church for forty-nine years. For about twenty-five years he was a sexton of the church in Sumner and remained faithful as a keeper of the house of God as long as the responsibility rested upon him. himself as ready to depart and be with Christ when it was God's will to release him from this life. Peacefully, at 5:00 a.m. Mary 29, he fell asleep in Jesus and is here no more, for God took him.
