She was a granddaughter of Provost Hossack, of Inverness, and daughter of the Rev. Murdoch Mackenzie, one of the ministers of the Inverness High Church, whose work in. the eighteenth century was long remembered. He married 2nd Oct 1742, Katherine, d/o John Hossack, Provost of Inverness, and had issue - Murdoch, born 4th Sept 1743; John, born 18th Sept 1744; Roderick, born 26th Jan 1747; Margaret, born 29th Oct 1748, died 14th Feb 1749; Barbara, born 16th June 1751 (married Norman MacLeod, Jamaica); Thomas, born 20th July 1752; Margaret, born 29th Jan 1754, died 19th Sept 1757; Phineas, born 20th March 1756; Katherine, born 26th March 1758; __Elizabeth, born 9th March 1760___.re a table is inscribed as follows:od, relict of Norman McLeod Esqr of Jamaica; and of her son in law William Fraser, merchant in Inverness, who died 10th June 1828, aged 39 years; also Elizabeth McLeod, spouse of the above William Fraser, who died at Drummond House on the 18th August 1865, aged 77 years. Their daughter Katherine was baptized at Inverness 16 Jan 1787 by Mr George Watson McLeod; Provost Phineas McIntosh & Kath : Willm Munro, witnesses. Elizabeth was baptized 16 May 1788.
