Cynthia (Candy) Ann Curran, 71, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Gerard H. Curran, devoted mother of Christopher (Heather) and Justin (Genesis) Curran, loving grandmother of Alida and Danielle Banh and Isla and Lexi Curran, cherished sister-in-law to Catherine (John) Tomasiewicz, Michael Curran, and the late Sr. Patrick Curran and the late Martin Curran, aunt to Patrick and Andrew Tomasiewicz and Marla Curran.
An avid collector of all things found on QVC, she was well known in the UPS delivery circles, and always popular at Christmas time when her collection of Dickens’ Village was on full display. She oft reminded her husband Gerard of all the ways she had learned to bring about his early demise, from watching crime shows on Investigation Discovery. A lover of all dogs and sometimes people, she supported many a cause, including the American Cancer Society, Doctors Without Borders, and the World Wildlife Fund.
Taking care of others, especially those in need, reminded everyone of her huge heart and loving nature, which highlighted her early career as a respiratory therapist and her later career as the family’s “Florence Nightingale.” Her dry wit and sense of humour always brought levity to any situation and she will be truly missed.
