Munia fue una reina de Asturias de origen alavés. Fue una mujer cautiva de guerra, de noble estirpe, con la que se casó legítimamente el rey Fruela I de Asturias. Madre de Alfonso II el Casto y Jimena.
Muerto Fruela I, su viuda Munia temiendo por las vidas de sus hijos, los envió al Monasterio de Samos (Lugo), que había sido fundado por su marido.
