Middag] met Aleydis (Aleijt) Petersdr. Aleydis is geboren omstreeks 1480. Aleydis is overleden vóór 12 september 1526, ten hoogste 46 jaar oud [bron: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/Dutch-Colonies/1999-03/0920692708-01].

Notitie bij Scalck: Uit onderzoek van E.G. Middag, raakt Scalck, 6 sept. 1518 (R.A.G. no 232) met zijn vader betrokken bij een vechtpartij. ( De opgetekende verklaring luidend: Meeus Wiggertsen tuijcht dat Jacob Willem Otten sijn mess wt had op Scalk Thoenissen en de sijn vader (volgens een aantal namen van personen die niet "tuijchte" = verklaren/getuigenis afleggen). Thoenis Geritssen tuijght dat Scalck sijn zoon gestoken heeft.

Anthonis Gherits1 MIDDACH was born about 1480. The year of his birth is based on a deposition dated 10/8/1533 in which he states he was "...aged around 50 years"..Anthonis died after 17 Jul 1546.

The information on Anthonis Gherits and the first four generations of his descendants was extracted by Mr. Pim Nieuwenhuis of Nederland from a series of articles and letters appearing in various issues of Nederland Genealogical Society's publication, “GENS NOSTRA”, issues of the Dutch genealogical publication “NEDERLANDSCHE LEEUW” starting in 1951 and continuing thru December 1979; and in a 1993 issue of still another Dutch genealogical publication, “ONS VORGESLACHT”.

These articles and letters quote specific civil and church records and have been verified and translated by Mr. Nieuwenhuis. Consequently, when a date or a marriage or other specific information is reported for any of Anthonis' descendants (down to, but not including, Aert Theuniszen), it should be assumed the information is contained in the above mentioned articles unless there is a specific reference cited. Anthonis is usually referrred to in the civil records as Anthonis Gherits but there are records where he is called Anthonis Gherits van den HILL. The use of van den HILL as a surname for Anthonis Gherits is a question that has not been completely resolved though it is almost certain that Anthonis Gherits MIDDAGH and Anthonis Gherits van den HILL are one and the same person. He appears to have been a farmer for on page 246 of the 1976 issue of "GENS NOSTRA" it is stated "...Anthonis Gheritiss MIDDACH, farmer in Middlekoop..."

In the introduction to this compilation it was stated that in an effort to keep spellings of the surname to a minimum (and to try to minimize reader confusion) a standardized spelling would be used throughout the compilation unless there was an overriding reason to do ot herwise. In this case, most all of the Dutch civil records covering individuals in the generations preceding that of Aert Theuniszen MIDDAG/MIDDAGH the surname is spelled MIDDACH. Therefore, the surname of all individuals in the generations preceding that of Aert Theuniszen have their surname spelled MIDDACH in this compilation.

He married Aleijt PETERSDAUGHTER. Aleijt died before 12 Sep 1526.
