<p><em>FATHER OF MRS. LUBSEN DIES<br /><br />Rudolph Jacobsma Passed Away at Orange City Last Thursday <br /><br />Rudolph Jacobsma, father of Mrs. P.J. Lubsen of Hawarden, passed away at his home at Orange City last Thursday. Hewas 76 years of age and had lived in Orange City for 54 years, the last 49 of which were spent in the same home. <br /><br />Mr. Jacobsma was born in the province of Friesland, Netherlands, Jan. 26, 1861, and grew to young manhood there. <br /><br />On Jan, 27, 1882, he was united in marriage with Miss Sjoukje Nicolai Te Opeinde in the Netherlands and two weeks after their marriage they sailed for America and upon their arrival located at Orange City. <br /><br />Four children were born to them but one daughter, Sarah, passed away Nov. 2, 1918. <br /><br />He is survived by his aged wife; one son, Adam Jacobsma of Parker, S.D., and two daughters, Mrs. P.J. Lubsen of Hawarden and Mrs. James E. Den Hartog Jr. of Orange City. <br /><br />He also leaves four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two younger brothers, Henry Jacobsma of Orange City and Simon Jacobsma of Sibley. <br /><br />Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the American Reformed church in Orange City with Rev.H. H. Kuiper in charge and interment was made at Orange City. <br /><br />Mr. and Mrs. Lubsen attendedthe funeral and their son, Rudolph Lubsen of Lamoni, Iowa, was also here and accompanied his parents to the funeral.<br /><br />Hawarden Independent 1937-05-06.</em></p>
